HOW IT STARTED

Eskola Roofing was established in 1972 by Jorma Eskola.

Jorma's story began in Finland, where he was born into a world much different from the one he would come to know. In 1958, seeking a better life, he and his family embarked on a courageous journey to the United States. Settling in Fitchburg, Jorma thrived in the public school system, where he discovered his passions for baseball and basketball. These early years, filled with hard work and dedication, set the stage for a life marked by perseverance and resilience.

Jorma's academic journey continued at Fitchburg State College. Soon life was interrupted when he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1970. He bravely served his country in Vietnam, an experience that profoundly shaped his character and perspective. Upon his return, Jorma was eager to start a new chapter. He married the love of his life, Lynda Mary Humphrey, beginning a partnership that would span 43 beautiful years.

With a family to support and dreams to fulfill, Jorma founded Eskola Roofing. Drawing from his diverse experiences as an immigrant, athlete, family man, and veteran, he developed a deep understanding of the values that truly matter. He realized that at the heart of exceptional customer service is a simple yet powerful principle: treat others the way you want to be treated.

Jorma's commitment to care and integrity became the cornerstone of his business philosophy. He believed that when you treat people well and act with genuine goodwill, the possibilities are boundless. This belief wasn't just a business strategy; it was a testament to his life. Jorma's journey was a living example of how empathy and hard work can lead to remarkable success.

Today, Eskola Roofing is more than just a company; it is a legacy of Jorma's values and vision. The ideals he championed continue to guide the company's mission, ensuring that every interaction and every project reflects the same dedication to treating people with empathy and integrity. Jorma's story is a poignant reminder of the power of empathy and the enduring impact of living a life rooted in core values.

“HOW DO I GET THE MOST OUT OF MY ROOFING AND WATERPROOFING?”

The key to long-term roof performance is consistent preventative maintenance and repairs. Often, major roof problems only come to the building owner’s attention when a leak has already happened, and after considerable damage has been done to the structure, equipment, or inventory.

Eskola has developed a comprehensive, and customizable, program designed to provide your building with consistent maintenance, attention and care. The program will maximize the performance of your roof system, ensure warranty compliance, forecast expenditures, and find potential issues before they become costly leaks.
